Founded in 2000, the Havana Film Festival New York (HFFNY) echoes the mission of the Havana Film Festival in Cuba (Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano) by acting as a platform for films from Central and South America, the Caribbean and Mexico as well as Latino films from the U.S. that lack the recognition they deserve. A project of the American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (AFLFC), HFFNY is proud to represent the largest collection of Cuban films and showcase those Latino cinematic gems that are rarely screened in the U.S.

The Havana Film Festival New York is a project of the American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba, a leading non-profit 501 (c)(3) cultural organization in the U.S. fostering cultural exchange between American and Cuban artists and art professionals.
